Updated Friday 12/12

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
– Luke 2:10-11

Good News, Great Joy, All People = Best News

Here’s a simple outline to share the Best News!

Bad News – Our sin has separated us from God. “…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”  – Romans 3:23

Worse News – We can do nothing to remove our sin. “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.”– Ephesians 2:8

Good News – At the cross, Jesus did for us what we couldn’t do for ourselves.  He died on the cross and shed his blood to pay for our sins. “…the blood of  Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.”  – 1 John 1:7

Best News – Through faith, we freely receive forgiveness and eternal life. “The  free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.” – Romans 6:23

What Now? – The Bible says, “if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is  Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be  saved.” – Romans 10:9

Live Nativity and Christmas Musical is Sunday 12/14

Don’t miss this special time and do not miss the opportunity to invite your family,  friends, and neighbors. A lot of prayer, planning, and work has gone into these  presentations, and I know it will be a great evening to worship King Jesus! What  could be better?

  • Live Nativity from 4:30 to 5:45.
  • “A Song, A Son, A Savior” at 6:00.

Thank You Again!

Denise and I are overwhelmed by your thoughtful expressions of love for our 16th  anniversary as your pastor. These two “hicks” are very excited about our trip to  Europe to see where Paul and the early Christians walked and proclaimed the  gospel. We love and appreciate you all!

Thanks to Our Parade Helpers

We had a great float in the Hillsboro Christmas Parade last Saturday. Thanks so  much to Glenn Tatum and his son-in-law for building the manger scene and  decorating the trailer. Thanks to Terry and Casey Martin for pulling the float  with their beautiful red truck. Thanks to Doris Mathis for getting the costumes  together, to our actors on the float, and to our “good will candy throwers” on the  truck. Well done!

Think about it…
How many there are ... who imagine that because Jesus paid it all, they need pay nothing, forgetting that the prime object of their salvation was that
they should follow in the footsteps of
Jesus Christ in bringing back a lost world to God.
