Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. – Psalm 23:4

The LORD is My Shepherd – Living with Hope

Someone has said that hope is better described than defined. “Like the excitement of children as they make their way to the tree on Christmas morning.” I remember those days with our children. It brought us great joy to see their anticipation, joy, and excitement.

After our youngest daughter was called home to heaven so suddenly, Christmas obviously was not the same. It was a dark valley to walk through, especially the first couple of Christmases. Although the former joy of Christmas was missing, the true meaning of Christmas was not – “God with us.” Our Good Shepherd walks with us through the dark valleys and reminds us that we are never alone. Amen.

Think about it…
“A Christian will part with anything rather than his hope; he knows that hope will keep the heart both from aching and breaking, from fainting and sinking; he knows that hope is a beam of God, a spark of glory, and that nothing shall extinguish it till the soul be filled with glory.” – Thomas Brooks
