Weekly Update 06/14

Updated Thursday 06/11

He personally carried our sins in His body on the cross [willingly offering Himself on it, as on an altar of sacrifice], so that we might die to sin [becoming immune from the penalty and power of sin] and live for righteousness; for by His wounds you [who believe] have been healed. – 1 Peter 2:24 (AMP)

The Cross of Christ – Our Greatest Need

Where do we go when we hurt? When we hurt for those we love? When we don’t understand? When our heart aches because we’ve sinned and grieved the Holy Spirit? We run to the cross! God may not give us all the answers we want, but in the cross we find absolute assurance of his unlimited grace and love. It is there, in the Savior’s wounds, that we find healing and hope. He is the “Shepherd and Guardian of your souls (v. 25).”  Bless His name!

Church Council/Business Meeting This Wednesday

Join us at 7:00 as we hear reports and plan for the future.

Kerschner Family Concert – June 28th

Joe and Elisa Kerschner and their six youngest children will be here to lead us in worship in the morning service and share a concert in the evening at 6:00. All sing and play instruments and lend their unique talents in music production to the group sound. A love offering will be received and there will be an ice cream fellowship after the evening concert. Don’t miss it!

“A Great Awakening” Movie Night – July 5

Join us in the fellowship hall at 6:00 as we see how God used a man named George Whitefield in the formation of our country. From the web…

With the colonies on the brink of collapse, the Rev. George Whitefield unites an entire generation with his thundering sermons and proclamations of liberty. In a miraculous turn of events, Benjamin Franklin becomes one of Whitefield's closest friends and greatest promoters. With the nation's freedom hanging in the balance, the founders discover true liberty cannot only be written into law -- it must be awakened in the hearts of the people.

I have seen this film and encourage you to come and to invite others!
